Montreal sweeps Detroit in 2 games

Reuters - The Montreal Canadiens won thier 4th Stanely Cup yesterday after defeating the Detroit Red Wings in 2 Games. The winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy was Benoit Brunet of the Canadiens who helped the Canadiens win their 4th Cup. After the disappointing start for montreal in the regular season with a 0-3-0 record, they swept the 1st place Buffalo Sabres and continued their upsets beating Detroit. It was Detroits first appearance in the Finals after beating New Jersey in 3 Games.

Will Detroit ever win a cup?

After a great season for the Detroit Red Wings, we still wonder if they will ever win the cup! There is a chance if Montreal doesn't make it to the finals? you never know!Another team that could make a difference is New Jersey,. provided that they play with more skill and seriousness, instead of the sloppy play during the playoffs. The Devils managed to upset Detroit in the Playoffs and make the series tough. Buffalo is struggling right now, with no offensive skills whatsoever, the Sabres could face early elimnation again next season. There will be no surpirise if Montreal wins the cup for the 5th straight time, however their bad play during the regular season and bad stats worries some of the Team's Management.
